Who we are

CollegePrep provides college counseling to students and families. This policy explains what information we collect on startcollegeprep.com, how we use it, and when we share it. Questions: hello@startcollegeprep.com or 502.315.1955.

Information we collect

We may collect:

• Contact details you give us — names, emails, phone numbers, and home address
• Student information used for advising — school, grade, graduation year, GPA, and questionnaire answers
• Account information if you create a family portal login
• Payment and invoice details needed to bill for advising (processed through QuickBooks)
• Technical data such as browser type and pages visited, used to run and secure the site

How we use it

We use this information to:

• Counsel students and communicate with families
• Send advising agreements for signature
• Create and track invoices
• Operate the family portal and staff tools
• Respond to questions and improve our services

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to provide counseling and run the site, including:

• Counselors and staff at CollegePrep
• DocuSign, to collect signatures on advising agreements
• Intuit QuickBooks, to create customers and invoices
• Google, when you sign in with Google, we send email from a counselor’s Gmail, or we use Maps to look up an address
• Hosting and database providers that store the site and family records

Those companies process data under their own terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect families and the practice.

Students and families

We work with high-school students and their parents or guardians. Parents typically provide family and student information. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

Retention and your choices

We keep records as long as we need them for advising, billing, and legal purposes. You can ask us for a copy of the information we have about your family, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@startcollegeprep.com. We may keep some records when we are required to.

Updates

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
